“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and your discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” ~ Patanjali
"As well as being a wonderful yoga class full of positive energy Kerri always gives a very motivating, thought provoking well researched anecdote which make you aware of your thoughts and actions. Awareness and acknowledgment of your actions allows you to really focus on positive change which in turn results in an overall sense of well being. " HL
"Just wanted to let you know what a fantastic class you taught today. I loved it. I had had a tough morning and your class helped me move on....it completely changed the direction of my day....and also it was a really fun class. It was like I was dragging a boulder with me into class but I left it there and literally bounced out! My time with you and my mat is my favourite most sacred time of the week. Without exception, I come away feeling inspired....every week it's as though you are reading my spirit when I walk into the room and helping guide me through whatever is going on with me....when I leave class I always feel more centered in body and spirit. I have spoken to many of your students and they all feel the same. Anyway - I just wanted you to know how truly grateful I am for all the energy, time, work, preparation and thoughtfulness you take each week to make your classes insightful and meaningful to each one of us. Each week you guide us into a higher place physically and spiritually. Thank you for all the gifts you give out each and every day. " TC
"I just wanted to say thank you for your words and encouragement in class this morning. I would never have attempted that pose if left to my own devices. Much too scary!! I've done it a few more times since and it feels wonderfully empowering! "HR
"I loved your class yesterday. I felt really quite overwhelmed emotionally during and after class as yoga played such a very important part in my daily life when I was living in Australia but I let it go when I left .... I have taken the plunge again and am so happy to be ‘floating’ again. "RM
"I always feel as though you can hear my inner soul.....you are very in tune with what's going on with me and all your students and I appreciate that. Also I really want you to know that I can see the results of your Anusara training. You've always been an incredible teacher...wise, real, relatable and inspiring and now you have taken that to another level. It can't explain it but I can feel it so whatever you are doing it's working" TC
"I ran into someone from your class the other day and we were discussing how much we enjoy your class and we wondered if you realize what an amazing impact you have on your students? You have made my life so much better...i handle things in such a different manner then i used to and she said she felt the same..plus it is such a joy to go there in the morning...i wish you were more days a week. Thank you so much for all you do for us and I wanted to let you know that so many people feel the same way." GB
"This gives me an opportunity to tell you how much I enjoy the classes; not only the yoga itself, but the way you can analyse, describe, and demonstrate simultaneously complex poses...... while adding a little bit of philosophy in between...... wow! what fun!" ~ MS
"You are such an inspiration. Sometimes my body is not feeling like making the effort to come but I always leave your classes feeling rejuvenated and pleased that I made the effort." ~ RD
(After her first yoga class ) "That was the hardest, most relaxing thing I have ever done" - Angie
"So your class inspired me this morning. After I left I went to the grocery store where I ran into an elderly woman who could barely carry her purchases and who was going to head off on to Middle Road to struggle home with them. I approached her and insisted that she let me drive her home. And she let me.
So you gave me inspiration. And she gave me the gift of feeling useful and kind. All before lunch time." MBL
"Just wanted to say thank you for what you have done for me. You probably don't know, but you did a lot. I was feeling very bad when I started attending your classes. And I don't know how, but coming to yoga help me a lot and I ve started to feel better and better to a point that I didn't want to leave the island anymore. I would have never thought that!! Lol . Anyway, you did a lot to my mind and also to my body. I feel in a better shape after the pregnancy and I even start running and I really enjoy it!" JB
"Thank you for being such an inspired teacher. I have really really enjoyed your classes and feel much better and clearer as a result of attending them. You are so knowledgeable and sensitive in your approach, and you really embody the spirit of the practice. " AB
"This poem is for Kerri
Just before I leave,
Kerri is the lady
who taught me how to breathe.
New to Island life
Unsteady and afraid
Starting to regret
The decision I had made
"Come to yoga with us"
New friends said "it's really fun"
I plonked down cross-legged on
My mat, and chanted 3 times "Ommmm"
Kerri made me welcome
I marvelled at her poise
She helped me stop and listen
To block out all the noise.
I made my way to down dog
Some poses hard to keep
Requiring strength and balance
While breathing full and deep.
I followed her instruction
Listening - what a genius!
Something else she taught me,
Who knew I had a wenis!
We all enjoy our sessions,
With Kerri, this for sure I know,
Except when she smiles and says
"Fifty frogs....Let's go!"
So as she encouraged me
In her unobtrusive way
My practice became stronger
Yoga, part of every day
Always played a part
And as the months turned into years
I learned to melt my heart
With poems and reflections
And deep ujaii breathing
Kerri made the tricky poses
Even seem appealing!
I never knew how much I'd learned
From time spent on my mat
Sometimes sweating, often peaceful
Times when I just sat.
So when I'm back in Belfast
I know I'll find a way
To keep my practice growing
and send Kerri "Namaste"
